  The suspect, identified as Kelly Fotor, an Ijaw native of Arugbo, Ondo State, was arrested last Saturday by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team, SIRT, at a wedding ceremony in Sapele, Delta State. According to Vanguard the suspect, who was at the ceremony with some armed men, had a gun duel with the operatives which led to the killing of one of the policemen, while Fotor and three of his colleagues, were arrested with bullet wounds. The Nigerian Communications Commission on Monday said it would sanction MTN, Airtel and Globacom for defying its directive on automatic migration to Pay-As-You-Go data bundle. The commission made this known in its ‘2015 3Q Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Report“ The NCC said it had continued to receive complaints from subscribers on automatic migration of data bundle package to Pay-As-You-Go billing upon the depletion of their data bundle. It stated, “Consequently and pursuant to section 53(1) of the NCA 2003, the commission on the 3rd of August, 2015 directed all mobile service operators to comply with the data bundle directives. That where a subscriber’s data bundle account is fully depleted before the due date, the service providers should notify the subscriber via SMS, giving information regarding the tariff/billing rate for automatic migration. “That all service providers should henceforth stop auto-migration of subscriber’s data service to the Pay-As-You-Go account upon t...

At least 9 people were killed today by a suicide bombing in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, according to a local resident and Emergency Management Agency official. ‎The suicide attack occurred near the Muna garage area of Maiduguri. Baba Kura, a resident of Muna garage, told a SaharaReporters correspondent that at least nine people feared dead in the attack. ”We heard loud explosions in our area and we quickly went to the scene and we found nine people dead and a vehicle seriously damaged,” he said. A State Emergency Management Agency official told SaharaReporters on the condition of anonymity that 6 people were recovered from the scene along Dikwa road. The Kwara state Police command on wednessday July 23rd paraded two men who they said are involved in trading of human parts. The men whose names were given as Amos Kareem and Abubakar Ladan were arrested with human head, leg and hand in Tabira village, Okuta in Baruten LGA of the state, according to a report by Vanguard. When interviewed, one of the suspects, Abubakar Ladan said Amos Kareem promised to give him a motorcycle if he could find him human head, hand and leg. His desire to own a motorcycle made him go to a cemetery where he exhumed bodies and cut off their heads, hands and legs (pictured above). When asked what he wanted to do with the human parts, Amos Kareem said he sold them to politicians. He however refused to disclose the identities of the politicians. The police also paraded a man said to be an accomplice, having accommodated the suspects in Tabira village, though the man denied knowledge of the business Kareem and Ladan were involved in.
